New Member to List: Heads-Up Display Q's

Hello All.

I've spent a short amount of time (less than a week) researching the
possibility of refiting a Heads-Up Display from either a Corvette or
Grand Prix into my '95 Z28.

I understand that it will be an uphill battle for various reasons:
    Availability/cost of parts
    Windshield composition
    Dash Space
    Data Acquisition
    Etc...

My real question is this:  Does anyone have any information on how GM
HUDs get their data - either from the ALDL bus, or directly from vehicle
sensors?

Any help is appreciated!
