I was under the hood of a '94 Vortec 4300 S-10 Blazer the other
day. It definitely is not TBI; it uses a central injection system. The
switching mechanisms are in a central block almost (almost!) akin
to on a Diesel engine, and lines run from this injection block to the
injectors.
I do not fully understand the system itself or how it differs from MPI
or SMPI, but it is not a throttle-body concept at all.
