29C256 is 5V flash... I just down loaded the Atmel data sheet.
It should plug right in and cost under $4.00. The part is writable in
64 byte segments.
28c256 is EEPROM... also available in 28 pin dip (I did not check for
pinout compatibility). price is $12-$10.
