MEMPAK: An Eprom in a black plastic carrier

CALPAK: A resistor network in a black plastic carrier.  See limp home
resistor pack.

MEMCAL: The guts of a MEMPAK and CALPAK both mounted in a bigger carrier
along with an optional knock sensor filter.
