Or to put this in a different perspective , the PCM isn't going to
appreciate having a signal ground
shared with a high current draw heater circuit. All that noise ringing
back into that discreet signal line.
Ouch. Its a real plus to also have more than a surface ground on the
sensor, which can become
unreliable , even on OBD2 vehicles. Don't get the ground wires mixed up in
position , hint,hint.
