RE: gm altenators...and efi
.. rather use this new style.. uses 2 less hp, uses oem brackets..
is the same as 86 and up altenators..
ie your gn.

Dunno about that, but at 8v the ecm might have had trouble with the
5v ref,
or being able to filter things depending on what took a dump in the
alternator. Open or shorted diodes can fubar lots of stuff
