Firewall holes

Does anyone have comments on a good location to punch a hole in the
firewall for the EFI harness in a 68-72 GM A-body (eg Chevelle)?    This is
a non-AC car, so I've got a bit more room to work with.    I'm using a '89
Camaro harness, have the original firewall "grommet" thingy.

I was planning on going right under the heater core.
