Re: fuel pump pressure???
Some vehicles in that year range had fuel tank baffle separation which
would cause the fuel pump strainer to be uncovered , causing fuel delivery
problems,
especially @ lower tank volumes. The condition would often lead to a fuel
pump failure as well , on a longer term basis. Hard acceleration off the
mark and
it falls on it's face , with the conditions you describe , sounds like a
ringer. There have been issues with the fuel senders associated with the
loose baffle as
well. Replaced a tank in the shop with this problem , although , someone
shouldn't have attempted to raise the truck with floor jack under the fuel
tank either!
Duh! We see many such problems in the hands of " Kitchen Magicians " .

okay folks,
I have an 88 C-10 305/TBI....when the gas tank gets below 1/4, RPMS drop
way down when accelerating from 0 to about 15 or 20....the vehicle has a
34 gal. tank and coolant temps seem to run somewhere between 150-170 (
according to various thermostats that have been tried to get the operating
temps up to around 185-190. again.. this only happens when the tank gets
below 1/4full.
anybody have a suggestion... by the way.. to my knowledge.. the prom
hasn't been screwed around with
thanks in advance
